Is this Austria's most beautiful lake? Perhaps it is! Welcome to Salfeinssee in Tyrol. The hike starts at Kemater Alm, located at an altitude of 1,670 metres. To get there, you have to take a toll road from Grinzens that runs through the Sender Valley. From the mountain pasture, I first reached the summit of the Grieskogel (2,158 metres) and then descended towards Salfeinssee (1,980 metres). The view of the Kalkkögel range, part of the Stubai Alps and known as the Dolomites of the North, is wonderful from both the summit and the lake. From the lake, I then completed the circular route by returning to the Kemater Alm. The hike is about 12 km long with an elevation gain of 800 metres. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- È questo il lago più bello dell'Austria? Forse si! Benvenuti al Salfeinssee, in Tirolo. L'inizio dell'escursione è presso la Kemater Alm, posta a 1670 metri di altitudine. Per raggiungerla bisogna percorrere una strada a pedaggio da Grinzens che percorre la valle Sender. Dalla malga ho prima raggiunto la vetta del Grieskogel (2158 m.) per poi scendere verso il Salfeinssee (1980 m.). Meravigliosa è la vista sia dalla cima sia dal lago sulla catena Kalkkögel, appartenenti alle Alpi dello Stubai e conosciute come le Dolomiti del nord. Dal lago poi ho completato il giro ad anello ritornando alla Kemater Alm. Vielleicht ja! Willkommen am Salfeinssee in Tirol. Der Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung ist die Kemater Alm auf 1670 Metern Höhe. Um dorthin zu gelangen, muss man eine mautpflichtige Straße von Grinzens aus nehmen, die durch das Senderstal führt. Von der Alm aus habe ich zuerst den Gipfel des Grieskogels (2158 m) erreicht und bin dann zum Salfeinssee (1980 m) abgestiegen. Sowohl vom Gipfel als auch vom See aus hat man einen herrlichen Blick auf die Kalkkögel, die zu den Stubaier Alpen gehören und und als Dolomiten des Nordens bekannt sind. Vom See aus habe ich dann die Rundwanderung abgeschlossen und bin zur Kemater Alm zurückgekehrt.
