The Toronto Transit Commission 6600-6735 are Nova Bus LFSe+ buses built and delivered in 2024 and 2025. They are the first battery-electric buses ordered from Nova Bus by the TTC. This order is shared with New Flyer, which is providing 204 battery-electric buses. In 2021, the Board approved the undertaking of a public procurement through issuance of a Negotiated Request for Proposal (NRFP), which would result in up to two contracts for the supply of approximately 300 long-range, battery-electric buses. With knowledge gained through the eBus Head-to-Head Evaluation, suppliers would be pre-qualified on demonstrated compliance with system compatibility requirements and Transport Canada’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. All 300 buses would be delivered from the first quarter of 2023 to the first quarter of 2025. The NRFP was issued in 2022 and was awarded in early 2023. In May 2023, Nova Bus announced that it had been awarded a contract for up to 541 long-range battery-electric buses, with the base order consisting of 124 buses. In June 2023, New Flyer announced that it had been awarded a contract for up to 621 long-range battery-electric buses, with the base order consisting of 186 buses. With new funding from the Federal Government's Zero Emission Transit Fund, announced in April 2023, the order was amended to include a total of 340 battery-electric buses. Therefore, Nova Bus will be supplying 136 buses and New Flyer will be supplying 204 buses.
