ANTN Past, Present, and Future Rev. Dr. Jerry Troyer joins Rev. Dr. Pjae Stanley to share information and ideas about where we have been, and where we are going. In 1992, the New Thought community included several different organizations such as Unity, Religious Science International (RSI), United Churches of Religious Science, Divine Science and Universal Foundation for Better Living (UFBL). That year, a small group of independent thinking religious scientists got together to create a new welcoming and inclusive organization, which became Affiliated New Thought Churches of Religious Science. Over the years, the new organization expanded to include independent ministers, practitioners, licensed Unity Teachers (LUT’s) and individuals, with the mission of “Connecting the New Thought community through Consciousness and Love.” Along the way, the name of the organization was officially changed to the Affiliated New Thought Network (ANTN). Board President Rev. Dr. Jerry Troyer has been peripherally involved since the beginning, and actively involved since 2016. Bio: Rev. Dr. Jerry Troyer and his late husband found New Thought in 1992. He served as senior minister of the New Thought Center for Creative Living in San Diego from 2007 to 2016, and was ordained in 2009. He holds a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate from Emerson Theological Institute. Rev. Dr. Jerry currently serves as Board President of the Affiliated New Thought Network (ANTN), a membership organization of Unity, New Thought, CSL and Divine Science centers and churches, as well as individuals. Jerry is also a founding board member and currently Director of Relationship Development for Urban Street Angels, an organization in San Diego County that works to end youth homelessness by providing bridge housing, employment and life skills training to homeless transition age youth, ages 18 to 24. Last night, more than 180 homeless youth had a warm and safe place to sleep because of one of USA’s programs. He is author of the acclaimed book, “Coming Out to Ourselves: Admitting, Accepting and Embracing Who We Truly Are.” But Jerry is not serious all the time. He is a Disneyland annual passholder, and enjoys visiting several times a year with his partner, Oliver. Rev. Dr. Jerry lives in the San Diego area with his English Cream Golden Retriever, “Maggie.” His son Brandon and family, including seven grandchildren, live in Oregon.
