Despite what some have heard the games fate is currently unknown as none of the developers know what to do. As for what I think should happen is that the games should be put to rest. It would require too much work to wipe Jess's involvement from the project. Especially if it meant redoing all the artwork as I would assume they would either try to replicate Jess's art style which I think would go against the point or worse yet, change the art style entirely. These games ARE their artwork. Jess's art is what truly gave the games their identity and to change it would just ruin what made the games what they are. I'm fine with them just leaving the games behind in their current condition. I never even wanted the remasters in the first place. But at the end of the day it's their call, not mine and I'll support the decision either way. I think it's just too much for something they can't even financially benefit from. So why am I playing it now despite everything? I want to separate art from artist for today so I can enjoy and say what might be my final goodbye to the game before moving on from it for good. (Unless the devs do try to revive it) This game means a lot to me. Watching Luigikid play the original all those years ago back in 2014 was an experience I still hold on fondly to. Met a lot of people I hold close and it was the game that got me noticed on this site. Even if I failed to keep the momentum during the MANY droughts I'm still better off having played it then not.
