How are synthetic opioids and stimulants changing addiction treatment Apresentação: Dr. Adam Bisaga Dr. Adam Bisaga is an academic psychiatrist, educator, and clinician. He graduated from the Jagiellonian University Medical College in Kraków, Poland and afterwards he moved to the US to pursue psychiatric clinical research. He completed training in addiction psychiatry at Columbia University where he has been on a faculty since 1999. Currently he is a Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center, and a Research Scientist at New York State Psychiatric Institute. His NIDA-funded research is focused on development of new medications and treatment protocols to treat opioid and other substance use disorders. Dr. Bisaga co-directs national training, mentoring, and technical assistance programs aimed at individual practitioners and states to implement treatments for opioid use disorder. He is a member of UN Expert Panel and the UN Office of Drugs and Crime International Scientific Network. Dr. Bisaga conducts trainings and addiction treatment program developments internationally and he co-edited “UN/WHO International Standards for the Treatment of Drug Use Disorders” and the UNODC Discussion Paper on the treatment of Stimulant Use Disorders Coordenação: Prof. Jair Mari / Prof. Miguel Jorge Presidente CEPP: Profa.
