In this educational video for cancer patients and their support persons, also translated into Arabic, Greek, Italian, Mandarin and Vietnamese, we’ll explain in depth what is meant by onco-fertility. Check out our 7-episode Fertility After Cancer series, where we discuss the main fertility preservation options open to people, adults and children, who have been newly diagnosed with cancer. Learn more about onco-fertility and explore the useful resources available here: http://fertilityaftercancer.org/ More people are surviving cancer, thanks to Improvements in cancer treatments, but few know that cancer, and cancer treatments, can affect a person’s fertility (or their ability to have children). Several safe and effective onco-fertility options are now open to cancer patients, but, often, a small window exists, just before starting cancer treatment, when a patient needs timely information to make informed decisions about preserving their fertility. Fertility After Cancer is a national awareness campaign from WCMICS, with experts from the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, to help cancer patients learn about their options to preserve their chances of having children later in life.
