Hello friends! Today there will be a very interesting walking tour of the new district of Helsinki called Kruunuvuorenranta. This district has existed for a long time, but only a few years ago began to be actively built up with new houses. Apartments in new buildings in Helsinki are usually expensive, so this area can be called a new and expensive area of Helsinki. You can get to the Kruunuvuorenranta area by bus or car, as well as by ferry. The journey by bus or car takes longer because the area is on a peninsula and you need to take a detour. The ferry is a quick trip, but the ferry only runs once an hour and is a temporary measure. Three new bridges are currently under construction, connecting central Helsinki with the Kruunuvuorenranta and Laajasalo areas. A tram line, a bicycle path and a pedestrian path of about ten kilometers will be built on these three bridges. If necessary, the bridges can also be used by emergency vehicles. The direct connection will significantly reduce the distance between Kruunuvuorenranta and the city centre, the walking or cycling distance will be only about 5.5 kilometres, and the tram ride will take about fifteen minutes. The bridges are supposed to be built in 2026 and the new tram line will be launched at the same time. Once that happens, I'll be in the front row to make a video about it. There are many videos on my channel about traveling around Helsinki by tram and bus, be sure to check them out. I went to explore this area by ferry. Ferry number 17 departs from Pohjoisranta street near Katajanokka island. The ferry is part of the Helsinki city transport network. To get there you need to buy a ticket for zones A and B. The ticket costs 3 euros 20 cents. The ferry takes 20 minutes. Join me on a luxurious adventure as we explore Helsinki's newest and most expensive waterfront district, Kruunuvuorenranta!
