On 19 september arount 12 ;30 While crossing the railway track, two schoolgirls coming from nearby MCD school — 7-year-old Raunak Khatun and 8-year-old Shahista Parveen — were hit by a goods train and lost their lives. Local residents allege that despite repeated promises, no foot overbridge was constructed and lack of safety arrangements led to this tragic incident. Angered by the negligence, people blocked the railway track in protest. Locals further claimed that Delhi Police lathi-charged the victims’ families and residents instead of supporting them. This video highlights how civic neglect, broken promises, and lack of safety measures cost the lives of two innocent children, and how enraged locals are now demanding accountability from the government and administration. According to locals, Delhi Police even beat up the grieving parents. The tragic deaths of the two girls sparked massive outrage near Prem Nagar (Nangloi), where hundreds gathered on the railway track to protest.
