De Beauvoir Town is a neighbourhood conservation area in the N1 area of Hackney, situated very close to Regent's Canal. It is a fantastic location for commuting to The City, which is approximately a 15-minute bike ride away. The name De Beauvoir Town is a misnomer, because it is really a village located between bustling Kingland Road and Southgate Road. Southgate Road is home to the artisanal DeBeauvoir Deli and the DeBeauvoir arms. You will also find boutique shops and restaurants. Most of the homes are semi-detached Victorians, but there is also hip coworking space DeBeauvoir Block, which is currently only accepting members on the waiting list. The neighbourhood is centered around leafy DeBeauvoir Square and St. Peter's Church. If you are searching for a bit of tree-lined peace and quiet, but still centrally located and commuter friendly, DeBeauvoir Town is an excellent choice.
