🔥 ESP8266 + TCS3200 Color Sensor | Smart Color Change Detector 🚦 💡 ESP8266 Color Sensor Project | Red Yellow Green Detection 🔧 Components Required 1. ESP8266 Module (NodeMCU / ESP-12E) 2. TCS3200 Color Sensor 3. Red LED 4. Yellow LED 5. Green LED 6.220Ω Resistors (for LEDs) 7. Breadboard 8.Jumper Wires 9. 5V Power Supply / USB Cable ⚙️ Working Principle 🔍 TCS3200 Color Sensor ▪️ The TCS3200 is a color detection sensor. ▪️ Inside it has RGB photodiodes: ▪️ Red Filter ▪️ Green Filter ▪️ Blue Filter ▪️ The sensor converts light intensity into frequency output. More light → Higher frequency Less light → Lower frequency The output is a square wave signal whose frequency depends on the detected color. 🧠 ESP8266 Controller ✒️ The ESP8266 reads the frequency output from the TCS3200. ✒️ Using control pins S2 & S3, ESP8266 selects: ▪️ Red filter ▪️ Green filter ▪️ Blue filter ✒️ ESP8266 measures the frequency for each color. Based on RGB values, it identifies the color. 🚦Color Detection Logic _________________________________________________ Detected Color Condition Output _________________________________________________ 🔴 RedRed value highest. Red LED ON 🟡 Yellow Red + Green high Yellow LED ON 🟢 Green Green value highest Green LED ON _________________________________________________ 💡 Output Indication ▪️ When a Red object is placed → Red LED glows ▪️ When a Yellow object is placed → Yellow LED glows ▪️ When a Green object is placed → Green led glows 🔁 Step-by-Step Operation 1.Object placed in front of sensor 2.White LEDs on TCS3200 illuminate object 3.Reflected light enters photodiodes 4.Sensor outputs frequency for R, G, B 5.ESP8266 processes data 6.Color identified 7.Corresponding LED turns ON 🌐 IoT Magic (Optional) ▪️ ESP8266 can send detected color data to: Blynk ThingSpeak Firebase Color status can be monitored remotely via Wi-Fi 📌 Applications :- Traffic signal systems 🚦 Color sorting machines 🏭 Smart robotics 🤖 Industrial automation Educational IoT projects 🎯 Conclusion This project demonstrates how ESP8266 + TCS3200 can be used to build a smart color detection system.
