We took their ingredient list, used only the important ones, and avoided the rest like bulking agents and fragrance, which is a known skin irritant. This is the closest you'll ever get to a homemade shimmy shimmy by lush minus the difficult to source ingredients. So let's go ahead and get started with the recipe. For this glitter body bar we'll need five ounces of cocoa butter, four ounces of shea butter, .3 ounces of gold mica or about two tablespoons, 40 drops of vanilla essential oil in jojoba, 40 tops of lavender, and 20 drops of Clary sage essential oil. Slowly, and at low heat, melt the cocoa butter over a double boiler until it's all melted and be sure not to overheat this. In a separate bowl, work the shea butter into a paste by using a fork or the back of a spoon. You just want to soften the shea butter but without melting it. Once you have a nice paste, whip the shea butter for a few minutes with an electric mixer, and scrape down the butter on the sides of your container to make sure everything is whipped evenly. Slowly add the liquid cocoa butter to the shea butter, and whip them together. You need to add a little bit of the liquid cocoa at a time and whip, but move rapidly through this step and keep the consistency close to a liquid lotion. Now stir in the mica a little bit at a time. It's important to note, you must stir it in before whipping or else you'll have mica powder all over the place. Once all the mica is incorporated and whipped in, add the essential oils while stirring or whipping, either way works. And you can change up the scent just keep in mind that cocoa butter smells like chocolate,so you want to use scents that won't clash with it. And keep moving quickly because the mixture will start to get a bit denser as the cocoa cools. Pour it into the molds of your choice, and we recommend making them about half an inch. Now set them aside to solidify at room temperature for about two hours. Once they're completely solidified, pop them out of the mold and they're ready to use. Store them in a plastic container or glass jar and keep them away from direct sun or extreme heat. Grab one and rub it on your skin like you would a bar of soap. Glide it over any part of your body, arms, legs, collarbone, whatever needs moisture and glitter.
