You Really Got Me - The Kinks - Orff Bars

I can hardly imagine how exciting it must have been to turn on the radio in the summer of '64! Imagine all the new hits you would hear! The British Invasion was in full swing since the Beatles played The Ed Sullivan Show early in the year. That summer the Beatles put out their third studio album "A Hard Day's Night". The Beach Boys were battling for the top of the charts right back with their album, "All Summer Long" which was also released that summer. The biggest songs that summer included "I Want to Hold Your Hand" by the Beatles and "I Get Around" by the Beach Boys. That summer The Kinks also made big waves with their song "You Really Got Me". In my opinion the songwriter and frontman for The Kinks, Ray Davies, is criminally underrated. This song is ahead of its time with it's aggressive guitar tones and raw, brash rock & roll energy.
