Roughly 8 million American teens are living with obesity — that's one in five. As rates soared in recent decades to epidemic levels, pediatricians could offer children and their families little beyond the conventional — and often ineffective — counsel of healthier diets and more exercise. That changed in 2022, when U.S. regulators approved Wegovy for teens. Reuters spoke with 10 families with children who had taken Wegovy or a similar weight-loss drug.
