Rules: 1. Hard difficulty (NG+ is required to fight True Masakado). 2. No Omagatoki: Strategize, Adversity, or Impaler's Glory. 3. No Incense or Demon Haunt conversation boosts on demons. Sutras are acceptable. 4. No using Taunt skills or Luminescent Mirage. Yep, that's right. Even though KaiserKreuz already made a video where they beat True Masakado at level 52 using demons with stats that are theoretically possible, I still managed to find something that was worthy of a video. As you can tell by my character's name, this is a different save file from my LLNF runs. In fact, I had to load an ancient save file from July 2024, nearly 2 whole years ago, which conveniently happened to be one in the Canon of Creation where I had tons of Macca and had already beaten True Masakado. Considering that I've done Godborn runs before, done every level 999 Virtual Trainer fight, and done 6 whole LLNF runs (2 easier ones, 2 CoV runs with Bucketgetter rules, and 2 CoC runs with Bucketgetter rules [adjusted due to the lack of Tao and Yoko]), I'm lucky that I never saved over this file the past year and a half. Anyways, True Masakado is the same as Regular Masakado except he has twice as much HP (regular had 100,000, so True has 200,000), higher stats, and 2 more press turns (7 press turns in total). While I probably could have done the same strategy I used for Regular Masakado involving Inugami, Hecatoncheires, Mishaguji, Leanan Sidhe, and Azumi, I didn't just want to make the same video again, so I decided to spice things up with a different challenge: No Taunt. There is actually already a video like this, but it was made by a filthy animation skipper and is also 1 hour long. While I do like 1 hour long fights, the difference with Masakado is that he's just not very fun to watch, because all he has are single-target attacks, Diarama, and a single AoE attack that you can just override by triggering a Diarama. A movie-length Masakado fight would just be the same shit over and over and over and over and over again, and I also just don't feel like doing that. So, instead of that, I decided that, much like for my Level 87 Satan video, I would use a cheese strat that doesn't involve Strategize, Adversity, Arioch, or Gogmagog. This time, however, instead of using Nahobino as the main damage dealer, I used Masakado himself. Believe it or not, Masakado is actually one of, if not the best damage dealers against himself due to his Innate, Scarlet Blade, which is the only Innate in the game to simultaneously boost crit rate and crit damage, and does it on the basis of amount of support effects on the user. So, if you have max buffs, Savage, and a Charge skill active, and of course Arahabaki to allow support effects to be transferred when you swap demons, and combine that with Rampage, Critical Zealot, Dragon+Beast Eye, Murderous+Bloody Glee, Pandemonic Feast, and Faithful Companion, our Masakado will more often than not be dealing tons of damage in a single attack, as high as 36,000 if he crits all 4 hits. The crit is still not guaranteed, but I think Zealot is still worth it because the attack still crits most of the time. Not having access to Taunt or Lumi requires us to use a couple brain cells here. While you can put Shiva's Essence and Drain/Repel Ice and Force to make Nahobino pretty much invincible until Light and Dark Dracostrikes come in, and put tons of Repels and/or Drains on every other demon, our Masakado will need a Magic Mirror on him on turns where he's out (unless we loop back to Brave Blade, but this did not happen here), because he does not have a single Repel or Drain in his affinities and all his skill slots have been spent. In addition, using Magic Mirrors on attacking turns costs a press turn, so Nahobino needs Lunation Flux so that our Masakado can attack twice. We also use Inflaming Divinity to buff Arahabaki and Evergreen Dance for Magatsuhi. I also put Donum Gladi on Arahabaki to boost Masakado's second Rampage, but it is a weaker effect than Charge. Beelzebub is the best choice for a Tyrant due to his double Debilitate, but if you're using Yakshini for PF, make sure she's not out when Beelzebub has to use it. You can use any FC and PF user, but I chose Yakshini cause I like her and Inugami cause he was the cheapest one I could fuse with all the Repels and Drains. Overall, this is probably the most entertaining way you can do True Masakado without editing your save file like KaiserKreuz did. In all honesty, this wasn't even that much harder than using Taunt if you know how his AI works, but at the end of the day, Masakado is a pretty solid puzzle boss.
