(This upload fixed some of the jank in the original video for those who saw it) I wanted this video to act something like a trailer for people who haven’t played Canto 4, “The Unchanging”. Dunno, maybe this will convince some people here and there to play the game. On the other hand, for people who have already played it, I wanted it to give the feeling of replaying Canto 4, just without going through 4 hours of story and a 4 module 1 hour dungeon. The reason I decided to make this in the first place was because I myself wanted to have a way to experience Canto 4 again without actually going through that 5 hour journey. Unfortunately, that had to start with a 5 hour journey and 4 modules (because part of the story is inaccessible from the theater). Regardless, I don’t regret going through it all again. There were countless moments and quotes I wanted to put in this video, but as it would turn out, fitting a 5 hour journey in 3 minutes means cutting out almost everything. In the end, I was left with only the clips I refused to take out no matter what, but even then they needed a little trimming around the edges. I really wanted to put in more of Dongrang and Dongbaek’s relationship with themselves and Yi Sang. Especially parts like when Yi Sang asked Dongrang if he finally fulfilled his dreams there, or when Dongbaek told Yi Sang how his wings were always there. There is still Dongbaek’s boss theme, but even then I would hardly be able to fit all I would want in there. It made me think if maybe I could just post a longer video without music that simply highlights the main parts of Canto 4, but I’m still not sure whether I feel like that’s actually a good idea. Say, I wonder how people even found out about Limbus Company in the first place given the lack of advertising they have. I’m willing to bet that the way I found it was not how most people did. One day, I was going through turn-based games on steam, as I was one of those people that still played old-school pixel turn-based games even when I knew triple A stuff was everywhere. Then, I stumbled upon Limbus Company, a game with a matte black header, and just the words tacked on with a small bus/train logo. To be frank, it looked pretty bad. Scrolling down, I then saw the summary, with 244p screenshots that were still from the beta, before the UI was cleaned up. This was all despite the game being well into the second season. And after seeing all that scuff, I was like... this game looks like it could be fun. The graphics ended up being better than advertised, but I still didn’t care too much since I wasn’t really a guy that cared much about that, nor did I care much that it was a gacha game as I had some experience beforehand with Epic Seven. My first triple zero id from the beginner banner ended up being Effloresced E.G.O: Spicebush Yi Sang. And with him, I ended up completing Canto 4. Watching the wings come out in that final cutscene made me, who was just casually playing before, think, “Ok, this game might be gas.” Truly ideal. Anyway, thanks for reading my long asf letter. Yours sincerely, Disgrace.
