BARREEF is a research project testing if a single rocky reef can improve both coastal protection and marine biodiversity. This is tested by deploying a rocky reef in a coastal area in Denmark and measuring if the reef enhances both coastal protection and local biodiversity. The BARREEF project is examining a rocky reef as a nature-based solution to improve coastal protection while also offering marine biodiversity benefits. The BARREEF project welcomes students wishing to participate in the project. The BARREEF project offers great opportunities for students with interests in marine biology, conservation biology, marine restoration, and ocean literacy. There is a DTU link for students here: https://dtu.jobteaser.com/da/job-offe... Please feel free to contact PhD student Lars Emil J. Andersen leman@dtu.dk or senior scientist Jon C. Svendsen jos@aqua.dtu.dk for further information. The BARREEF project is funded by The Velux Foundation: https://veluxfonden.dk/en and Vattenfall: https://group.vattenfall.com/ The project team is very thankful for the funding that enables our marine research.
