Mitsubishi has officially launched the Xpander HEV which is the hybrid variant of its popular 7-seater mini MPV. The Xpander Cross HEV featured in this review is priced at Bt946,000 and sits on top of the Xpander lineup in Thailand, which also consists of the standard 1.5-liter variants. The Xpander HEV gets a newly-developed 1.6-liter MIVEC engine developing 95hp that serves mostly as a range extender while the electric motor is capable of producing 116hp and 255Nm. Average fuel consumption is claimed at 5.2l/100km while CO2 emission is 118g/km. Highlights include 7 drive modes (including EV), Active Yaw Control (AYC), upgraded suspension, 8-inch digital driver display, electronic gearshift lever and new multi-function steering wheel.
