Welcome to another New York Habitat video tour of a vacation rental in Paris ( http://www.nyhabitat.com ). Today, we will be giving you a tour of a studio apartment on Rue du Fer à Moulin, which is found in a neighborhood known as "Quartier de la Mouff" which gets its name from the nearby Rue Mouffetard, one of the oldest streets in Paris. Once a lower-class neighborhood, the Quartier de la Mouff has now become a charming area with nice buildings and cobblestone streets leading down to the Seine River. Feel free to watch other great New York Habitat video tours, such as these ones of Saint-Germain-des-Prés ( • Paris, France - Video Tour of Saint-Germai... ) and the Buttes Chaumont ( • Paris, France - Video Tour of les Buttes C... ) for instance. For more information on this vacation rental (ref. PA-2598), do not hesitate to take a look at its comprehensive description on our website ( http://www.nyhabitat.com/paris-apartm... ). Entering from Rue du Fer à Moulin, a small passageway will take you to the studio apartment, which is located on the 1st floor of a small house, inside of which a unique staircase surrounded by sculptures will lead you to the entrance of the apartment. Upon entering, you will find the kitchen. The small kitchen is equipped with a sink, a stove top, a small refrigerator, and cupboards with dishes. You will also find a small shelving unit with a microwave, a toaster oven, and cooking utensils. There is also a small fold-out table right below the window, which faces a small and quiet dead-end road. Next, you will come to the main living area. It has a mirrored closet to store your belongings, a double-sized sofa bed, a night stand with a telephone, and a window also facing the quiet dead-end street below. The bathroom was redone since the video was shot (pictures are accurate on our website). A short walk from the apartment, you will find the Square Scipion. This small garden area has a playground for kids and a ping-pong table. A few blocks away, you will come to the Grande Mosquée, which brings a change in architecture scenery to the center of Paris. The Grande Mosquée was opened in 1986 as a place to pay tribute to fallen Muslims during WWI. It is nowadays a place where you can go to pray, worship or have tea and couscous. Created in 1626, the Jardin des Plantes was originally a medicinal herb garden. It was then opened to the public in 1640 and it is a great spot to relax, take a stroll or visit the greenhouses. While you are in the Jardin des Plantes, consider visiting the Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle, where you will find the Gallery of Evolution and the Gallery of Mineralogy. The Rue Mouffetard is one of the most picturesque streets in Paris. With its numerous fruit and vegetable stands, cheese and wine shops, it is the perfect place to do your grocery shopping. At the end of the Rue Mouffetard, you will find the wonderful Église Saint-Médard, which was built between the 15th and 18th centuries. Last but not least, the Manufacture des Gobelins, which is a royal tapestry factory, was created by Louis IV in 1601. It is best known for supplying the court of Louis XIV and later monarchs.
