The McWilliams Round - 32 Mile Ultra Marathon!

The McWilliams Round. Northumberland. This is a 32 mile self navigation/self supporting route around some of the best scenery the Cheviot Hills have to offer. Starting from the War Memorial in Wooler town centre, you’ll follow the famous St Cuthbert’s Way till you hit the Scottish Border. From here you’ll now join the epic Pennine Way, traversing the border till you reach the highest point in Northumberland, The Cheviot. Now you’re turning for home, following the route of the classic fell race, The Chevy Chase before finishing back at the War Memorial in Wooler town Centre! Note This challenge isn't for beginners. Although the paths are well marked, it's still a very long route and you will also have to tackle over 7000ft of ascent in some of the most remote parts of The Cheviot Hills. Self support means.. you're on your own! This isn't a race, it's a self timed challenge that you can do any day of the year but you will receive a certificate of completion (if you finish!) at the end. The type of certificate you receive depends on how fast you get around. Gold, silver and bronze available. Full description of cut off times in the video.
