Public Records Requests

Districts continue to receive California Public Records Act (CPRA) requests with increased frequency with requesters turning their focus to emails and information contained in databases. This workshop will include an overview of the CPRA and the limits on requests, specifically in the area of electronic records as well as strategies for minimizing the burden on districts while complying with the law. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss some of the developing areas of the law, including requests for records maintained on private accounts and mobile devices. Presenter: William B. Tunick
