WINEDRON winedronARGENTINA Monteviejo winery is situated at the foot of the Andes mountains in the heart of the Uco Valley. One of the most important wine regions in Argentina, it is 120kms from Mendoza city in Vista Flores, Tunuyán, located within the Clos de los Siete group of wine properties. The property spans 130 hectares with altitudes between 1000 and 1200 meters above sea level. The land has northern and eastern facing slopes, which give them a better exposure to the Southern Hemisphere sun. Construction for the winery started at the beginning of 2001, and the first harvest was in 2002. With a surface area of 8500m2, Monteviejo has a gravity system with a double selection table for bunches and grapes. The objective of that is to transport the best raw material without using pumps, taking care not to damage the grapes in any part of the process. From the harvest to bottling, including passing through oak aging in barrels, the wine continues in its natural direction… Using only the force of the weight of the grapes to move them from above to below. Bodega Monteviejo está situada al pie de la Cordillera de los Andes, en el corazón de Valle de Uco, una de las principales zonas vitivinícolas de la Argentina: a 120 km de la ciudad de Mendoza, Vista Flores, Tunuyán, dentro del grupo de propiedades de Clos de los Siete. El predio comprende 130 ha a una altitud entre los 1000 y 1200 msnm. Sus tierras con pendientes orientadas hacia el Norte y el Este tienen la mejor exposición al sol dentro del hemisferio Sur. La construcción de bodega comenzó a principios del 2001, realizando la primer cosecha en el 2002. Sobre una superficie total de 8 500m2, Monteviejo consta con un sistema gravitacional con doble cinta de selección de racimos y granos. El objetivo del mismo es transportar la materia prima sin la utilización de bombas, cuidando de no dañarla en ninguna parte del proceso. De la cosecha al fraccionamiento pasando por el escurrido del vino de las cubas en las barricas de añejamiento, el vino sigue su pendiente natural. Se usa sólo la fuerza del peso de la uva para desplazarla de arriba a abajo.
