Welcome to part 1 of the Air Conditioning install in this 1964 Chevelle SS convertible fitted with an LSX454. In this video I install of AC compressor under the hood from a company called LS Simple using all their custom brackets. I went with this company because I already use their serpentine belt and brackets for my power steering and alternator and they have a simple kit that allows me to add an AC compressor. I also cut holes in the dashboard to allow me to use the factory AC bezel vent location for that clean factory look. This car never came with air conditioning, but it's going to look like it did. Shapeways was a company that I had uploaded the duct designs too and they handled the whole process of printing and shipping directly to the customer. TBH, I was never all that thrilled with them. I am actively searching for another company that may be able to fill in for this company. I'll keep you informed if I do. I know there is another option for these parts, albeit more expensive, but in the end, it might be the way to go. I never made any money off these parts because Shapeways charged way to much (IMO) and I felt it was more important to get these in the hands of all of you than to make $5/$10/$20 off of these which in the end isn't going to change my life in any meaningful way at the volumes where talking. I've had people ask me why I don't print and ship them myself. On the printer that I own, the Creality Ender3, it takes about 30 hours to print one duct. So 60 hours of print time, plus printer set up and monitoring, just takes to much of my time. I also had many print failures. I had five or six print failures to get the two that are in my car, so it's just not an option for me to make them for you all, sorry. Anyway, if I can find an option, I will let you know. Thanks for understanding. Purchase AC bezel here: https://www.autoobsession.com/aircond... Auto Obsession also sell the chrome ball that goes in the bezel. That is actual from a 1965 GTO, ask them and they can get that for you. Foothill Paint and Fabrication video HOW TO CUT DASH: • 1965 Chevelle Malibu SS (Ep 4) A/C Convers...
