Marie Curie – The Woman Who Died for Science Marie Curie was a true genius — the first woman to ever win a Nobel Prize and the only person in history to win two Nobel Prizes in two different sciences (Physics and Chemistry). Her discoveries of radium and polonium in 1898 changed the world forever, paving the way for X-ray machines, radiation therapy for cancer, and advanced nuclear research. But this groundbreaking work came at a heavy cost. At the time, no one understood the deadly effects of radiation. Marie Curie would often carry test tubes of radium in her pockets, keep radioactive materials in her lab and notebooks, and work without any protection. Slowly, radiation destroyed her body — leading to her painful death from aplastic anemia in 1934. Even today, more than 90 years after her death, her notebooks, clothes, and scientific equipment remain so radioactive that they are stored in lead-lined boxes — and may not be safe to touch for at least 1,500 years. This is the story of how a woman sacrificed her own life to save millions of others. 🔑 Keywords Marie Curie, Madame Curie, Radium discovery, Polonium discovery, Nobel Prize, radiation history, radioactive elements, aplastic anemia, X-ray invention, women in science, SSKnowledgeTV 📌 Hashtags #MarieCurie #ScienceHistory #WomenInScience #NobelPrize #Radioactivity #SSKnowledgeTV ⚠️ Note This video is made for educational purposes only.
