The King of the Streets lowrider event was especially significant because it featured the world’s first televised and streamed lowrider parade, broadcast nationally by CBS. This historic moment celebrated Chicano and Latino heritage in San Francisco’s Mission District during Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month, bringing cultural pride to the national spotlight. The excitement continued with the traditional Lowrider Hopping Competition, where hydraulic systems were pushed to the limit in a battle for bragging rights and $10,000 in cash prizes.
