Pakoštane is a peaceful little town in the county of Zadar in Croatia. It is located on the coast about halfway between Zadar and Šibenik, and it is home to almost 3,000 inhabitants. It has a unique position because it is situated on a narrow coastal belt between the Adriatic sea and Vrana lake. In Pakoštane there are several beaches that are very close to the center of town and most are ideal for families with children. Some of the beaches are rich in the sand on the shore and under the sea, while others are paved and gravel and surrounded with pine trees. We recommend visiting the Nature Park Vrana Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Croatia with very rich flora and fauna.
