As communities across the globe increasingly face the effects of climate change, newsrooms are struggling to find the resources and staff to cover the environment. A new U.S. administration, regional developments, and international negotiations among other considerations point to the need for re-energized coverage of our changing climate as well as government and community responses and solutions-based initiatives. Pulitzer Center grantees discuss the state of environmental reporting and what is needed to sustain this work. Panelists: Lyndsey Gilpin, founder and editor-in-chief, Southerly Caroline Porter, media strategist and journalist John Upton, Partnerships Journalism editor, Climate Central Andrés Bermúdez Liévano, coordinator, Latin American Center for Investigative Journalism (CLIP) Katrin Snow, senior editor, KQED Science Steve Sapienza (moderator), Pulitzer Center senior strategist, Collaborative News Partnerships This session was recorded on April 22, 2021, as part of the Pulitzer Center’s annual conference, Environment (Re)Defined.
