This prototype, intended to be used for projects such as the side rails, headboard or footboard on beds, had the Web area made from some two-year-air-dried firewood. The firewood was resawn on a Jet 18" then a jointer and later run through a Jet Shaper to create the tongues. The top and bottom flanges were made from scrap ash. Once glued up, sanded and varnished I did a two-part epoxy clear-coat and applied Threaded Tenon Joinery. This video is a review of the finished prototype after all of the above including comments on what worked well and what did not. This is a series of videos documenting the build of multiple prototypes for the "MikroRail", a DIY wood I-Beam Rails Post and Rail common to the building of beds, bunks and dorm-room lofts. Larger versions are also possible for Post and Beam style small structures such as gazebos, screen rooms, sun rooms, firewood shelters, garden sheds etc. When completed, about May 5, 2022, the full tutorial can be found on Instructables.com at my Profile Page at https://www.instructables.com/member/... This video is part of a series of tutorials about incorporating "knock-down" functionality into woodworking projects using Mike's patented Threaded Tenon Joinery.
