In 2018, I accepted an opportunity to work as a Princeton in Asia Fellow at a university in Almaty, Kazakhstan. My appreciation for Kazakhstan grew during my two years there, but I had to leave unexpectedly within 10 hours in March 2020 due to the pandemic. Five years later, I embarked on a journey to revisit the country that unexpectedly became my second home.
