A cross between ccache and distcc, RECC can cache and remotely distribute compilation commands using the open source Remote Execution API (REAPI). It also supports link command caching and remote linking. RECC is used at Bloomberg to save both time and compute resources for every C++ build. On the company’s integration build system, which performs tens of millions of daily compilations, RECC achieves a nearly 80% cache hit rate.
