He called it Ma Blonde Est Partie (My Blonde Went Away and Left Me). In 1935, the historic Hackberry Ramblers recorded "Jolie Blonde" in G Major that is essentially the version that is known today. Harry Choates -- considered one of the greats in Cajun music -- changed the tune back to the key of A Major and recorded "Jole Blonde" in 1946 producing the definitive version that nearly everyone emulates today. This two-violin version was arranged by Mark O'Connor and Doug Kershaw, transcribed from their 1992 recording of it on O'Connor's multi Grammy nominated "Heroes" album in 1992 for the O'Connor Method Book IV and its companion CD "MOC 4" released 2014.
