Inspired by the video posted on MMO Champion's forums, I decided to try Alysrazor myself. She proved to be quite a challenge but in the end - and after dozens of failures - I managed to ground that bird! I had to shorten the description at times for it to fit here on youtube, so bear with me. I'm uploading this mostly because the aforementioned video's quality is so poor it's hard to understand what's going on. With careful observation I could understand a couple of tricks our Asian friend pulled off in his kill, and with this video and explanation I hope you guys can too understand it. Of course, credits (and kudos) should go to him/her! First things first: get prepared. Food, flask, and potions; also, reforge specifically for this fight. Over 70% of your damage will be DoTs (read: Combustion), so you'll want to pack as much mastery as you can. Moonwell Chalice is a great for this. Because of Alysra's Razor you can safely reforge out of crit; even haste has it better. For the pull, have Mana Shield and Mage Ward up. You can use MI and pre-pot for extra damage. Blink will negate the knockback and position you to DPS Alysrazor. You should Mana Shield again to mitigate damage. Here you can activate MWC and still have it for the grand finale. If you're fast you can Combustion; but on some tries I'd later find it on CD and chose not to use it. Don't pick up the first three feathers. In my experience, being too far from Alysrazor will despawn her, so just grab the first two and pick up a late third feather to avoid this. This situation can also happen when she spawns a fire ring too high just before she plummets down for Molting: try to catch this specific ring fast. Your ticket to killing Alysrazor is a huge Combustion, and for that you'll need to stack a huge Ignite. To pull that off, you must obtain Alysra's Razor ASAP. Now, the trick. You can notice several times on the video that I get two stacks of Blazing Power from a single fire ring. To do it, you must be near the ring's spawn point just as the ring spawns, and continue there until it's despawning. If done correctly, the ring will give you a stack when it spawns, and another stack just before it fades. This is crucial and probably the hardest part of soloing Alysrazor. The more you can do this, the faster you'll build up Blazing Power, the faster you'll get Alysra's Razor. Thus, you'll be able to stack a bigger Ignite on Alysrazor. You'll notice some patterns I can anticipate for you. The fire rings always spawn on the same position when Alysrazor rises, just after a Molting, and will spawn on that same position for the next two spawns (the ''middle inner'' position). The fire rings and Incendiary Clouds also always spawn in the same position for one particular Molting, so the first spawn lets you know the next two. Those are great times to get double stacks. If you master this, you should be able to get a kill. However, to get that big Ignite, there's still some work to do. When you're at 22-23 stacks of Blazing Power, you must let any Ignite you have on Alysrazor fall off, so you can build up a fresh one with correct timing. You can do this with Arcane Blast; and if you have the opportunity to stand still do Evocate, the extra health from the glyph should get you some time on the ground later on. When you get the 24th stack of Blazing Power - and thus Alysra's Razor -, you should start Scorch spamming. Because of Ignite's bugged munching and Scorch's lack of travel time, spamming it will allow you to build up bigger and bigger Ignites. You won't stop Scorch spamming for nothing - don't lose sight of Alysrazor, don't Living Bomb, don't Pyroblast or anything. And don't miss, so try to be near the hit cap. With 4pc T13, you can Combustion when there's 1min 10sec until Fiery Vortex and still have it for the end, so do it. Combustion is off the GCD it should NOT hinder your Scorch spamming. Ignite might bug sometimes and not build up as it's supposed to. Happened to me on some tries and I couldn't find why; just Invisibility and restart if that's the case. If it's growing steady don't forget to pot ons 25sec to Fiery Vortex. Alysrazor will begin flying in circles for the vortex. When you lose flying is the time: pop MWC (don't fail like me and make sure you're low enough for it to affect you!), Time Warp ( for extra ticks!), Living Bomb, and finally Combustion on Alysrazor. Don't Pyroblast because the travel time will mess things up. You probably won't have time for it anyway. The Hatchlings will be all over you, six Lava Wurms spewing fiery death, and Tornados all over the place. Mirror Image might buy you some time with the Hatchlings, and Ice Block should be used to ensure Combustion ticks until the very end on Alysrazor. If she's not dead by then, you're probably the one who's dead. Good luck!
