My Husky is OVER this Treacherous Weather!

Welcome back to another chilly day with the pack! Today started with a beautiful, icy morning as we waited to see if we could get a "woo" out of the girls. Even though our predicted snowstorm turned into a messy ice storm, Memphis, Kira, and Eleanor didn't mind one bit. We decided to brave the freezing rain for a walk because these Siberian Huskies were going stir-crazy! With ice cleats on and Memphis in her hawk braces, we navigated the slushy, windy roads while the girls pulled us along like true sled dogs. The ice has been coating everything from our cars to the tall oak trees, and you can actually hear it crashing down as it melts! After a quick trip to the post office and a very foggy drive toward the lake, we headed back home to dry off. The day wouldn't be complete without some "sunny side up" belly rubs in the hallway and a round of delicious bully sticks while we caught up on the Olympics. Life is short, and even when the weather is treacherous for humans, it’s just another playground for a Husky. We are so thankful to spend these moments with our girls, watching them navigate the drifts and hearing those classic Husky howls. HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR DAY ☀️ Starting the morning with a massive stretch and searching for those elusive Husky woos. 🚗 Checking out the driveway after Jamie cleared a thick coating of ice off the cars. 🌧️ Braving the ice rain for a walk because the dogs were going crazy indoors. 👣 Observing the tiny "puff prints" and paw prints left behind in the slushy ice. 💥 Memphis taking a little face plant on the slick road—don't worry, she got right back up! 🧊 Watching huge chunks of ice fall off the power lines and trees during the drive to the PO box. 🙃 Finding Memphis laying "sunny side up" in the hallway for some midday belly rubs. 🌲 Exploring the backyard to hear the "creaking" of the ice-covered trees as they start to melt. 🦴 Enjoying some well-deserved bully sticks while cheering on Team USA. 🌙 A sleepy Kira putting herself to bed before the final "double cookie" call.
