Aluminium foil is being used by lot of people nowadays to cook and also to pack the food. But actually aluminium has the property of leaching wherein if you keep any hot substance in it Then it can get slightly corroded and it enters into the food. So never use aluminium foil to store hot food or to see that the food remains hot. Don’t use aluminium foil to pack that hot food. Also do not use aluminium foil when you are packing some fruits which are acidic, say for example, citrus fruits and do not use it for tomatoes and also for spices because aluminium has a property of entering into the food. Lot of research has been done about this and they feel that aluminium is causing lot of problems like, the bones are getting eroded, osteoporosis is one of the symptom seen in people who are having aluminium toxicity, because bone aluminium levels are high in the body, then the calcium starts getting reabsorbed into the bones and the blood calcium levels are found to be very high. So if you do a blood test, you find that the calcium levels are going very high. In that case, what happens is there is a gland called as parathyroid gland in the throat, region of the throat. So this gland produces a substance called a s parathyroid hormone which is supposed to control the calcium metabolism. When the calcium levels go high the parathyroid level hormone levels start reducing and this also affects the body to a great deal. So whenever these kind of things are happening, automatically the bone re-absorption happens and the bone becomes weaker and weaker. That is one of the study which is done. The second study which has been done says that aluminium starts depositing into the brain and the nervous system causing symptoms of Alzheimer’s. So lot of people with Alzheimer’s when they have done post-mortem studies, they found that aluminium is deposited into the nervous tissue in the brain. And also they have seen that aluminium can, because it is deposited in the brain, it can even affect the nervous system, leading to weakness of various organs,. Constipation is one of the common symptoms seen in people with aluminium toxicity and again you will find that they will have paralysis and such symptoms also.
