Finding the right location to rock fish in a massive swell is a well thought out process. Everything is calculated. Tides, access in and out, are you able to fish the spot, are you able to land the fish where you are fishing, is it safe enough for you to fish there, is the swell much smaller at the spot that you are fishing compared to the east fronts and more you need to know. This is not recommended for anglers that do not have a clear understanding of swell direction, location to fish, about waves, impact zones, tide sizes and more. This was a calculated risk! I lost a lot of rigs on this outing but it was still worth while. Gear used on the outing plus some add ons: Rods- Alvey Custom Beach King 65C 13.6 two piece 5-10kg- you can use up to 12 kg line class. (Rod use on trip-Discontinued) Live Fibre two piece 13 foot 10-15kg. Or Regal 7177 two piece 15 foot 7-15kg. Reels- Alvey 65S Stealth. Or Surf Champion 65. Line- J-Thread Mono 25 to 30lb. Leader for your rig- J-Thread FC Fluorocarbon leader 40lb. Swivel- Mustard rolling swivel with round eye 103lb. (personal choice for swivels) Sinker clip and swivel- There is a range of them at your tackle shop Soft bead between sinker clip and swivel. (impact bead) Hook-Mustard 3/0 to 4/0 92554NPNR Red. Or 3/0 to 4/0 92553NPBN Octopus. Follow me on : Facebook : / bellissimofishingguide Facebook : / alex.bellissimo.50 Instagram :https://instagram.com/rock__beach__fi...
