Run times vary depending on which tools/attachments are used (generally the difference comes down to whether you are using a motorized tool or a non-motorized tool). Official run times were determined when using a motorized cleaner head. We walk through the official run time for each vacuum in each of its available power modes. The V7 and V8 have two power modes (Low and Max), while the V10 and V11 have three power modes (Low, Med and Max). We should note that the V11 actually has Eco, Med, and Boost but Eco and Boost are essentially just different names for Low and Max. We then tested the run times for each vacuum in each of its power modes. We made sure the battery was fully charged, held the trigger down, and recorded the time until the vacuum stopped with a stopwatch. We walk through all the tested run times and discuss how they compare to the official run times. We also make some broad statements comparing tested run times between the vacuums. While run times are important, battery recharge times can also be of interest to owners. If you run out of battery it is nice to be able to have the battery recharged quickly so you can get back to work. We compare the battery recharge times for each of the 4 Dyson cordless units.
