You have to try rolling your own rock at this amazing factory tour near Brid 🤩

John Bull has been making treats since 1911, and it’s still a proud family business today, run by the fourth generation of the very same family that started it! We recently popped over to try their tour, and it was so much fun! We walked through the working factory and saw the biscuit room, the chocolate room, the packing line, and of course, the secrets of traditional rock making. On the way, there are letters on pieces of rock hidden throughout the displays, which the kids can find to spell out one of the secret ingredients that makes the rock so good! And we didn’t just get to watch - we got to roll our very own stick of rock with our initial inside, and decorate a chocolate lolly and bar to take home too! Along the way there are plenty of samples to try, and the smells were amazing. What makes the place really special is the people. Many of the staff have been here for years, and visitors often return with children and grandchildren, still recognising the same friendly faces from decades ago. After the tour, kids can burn off energy in the indoor play area, and you can browse the shop full of handmade Yorkshire gifts before enjoying a bite in the café.
