Public Health England has admitted that 15,841 positive cases between the 25th September and 2nd October were not included in reported daily cases at the time and not passed on to the contact tracing system. The latest figures on 4th October show there were 22,961 new confirmed coronavirus cases, recorded in the latest 24-hour period. 33 deaths more deaths were recorded, of people who died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test. It takes the total number, across the UK, to 42,350. The Prime Minister Boris Johnson has warned that the UK faced “a very tough winter” with the virus . He said he hoped things would be radically different by the spring. Labour accused him of failing to set out a "serious strategy".
