During the First World War, the British Empire sent British and Indian troops to Mesopotamia to secure oil facilities and other interests from the Ottoman Empire. Unlike the campaigns in Gallipoli and Palestine, the campaign in Mesopotamia doesn't nearly receive the same level of attention. In this video, I take a peek at the conditions for the men who served there, and examine the kit that they wore as they traversed the desert and river plains of the ancient land. This video is apart of the 'Grand Alliance of the Great Collab,' a grand collaboration between myself and six other channels, where we're looking at the impact of the Great War outside of Western Europe.
