I picked up two Amazon finds under $40 / £30 – the Creative Pebble V3 and the SOULION R30 Plus soundbar – to see which budget speaker makes the most sense for my gaming pc desk setup. I like using the built-in speakers on my MacBook Pro and Apple Studio Display because they are very convenient and sound great. So I started looking for decent external speakers that don’t need extra power bricks or too many cables for clean desk setup. Both the Pebble V3 and Soulion R30 Plus connect with a single USB cable (power + audio), support Bluetooth and are compact enough for a minimalist desk setup.
