It was so annoying. I kept isolating each track to find that damn bird. I went through each one—it was a total setback. Never found him. It made no sense. I even played multiple tracks together, in pairs, because I thought maybe the bird sound was manifesting not from one track, but from two played together. Still couldn’t find the damn sound wave. It made no sense—because there it went: it chirped and chirped and chirped away regardless. I chalked it up to my nephew paying me a visit—my sister-in-law’s late son. Since his passing, she sees him in the blue birds. Although that original track didn’t work out, “Pajarito Azul,” the last track on this collection, is my guitar trying to imitate the sounds of the little bird I never found on that throwaway track. I see you, kid. Good one.
