Empowered to Obey | Fr. Romie-Jun Peñalosa | May 14, 2023

Our Gospel talks about how we can show our love for Jesus. Sincere obedience comes from true love. How do we love Him? Obey Him. We must nurture and cultivate God's love. If we know and understand that God loves us, we will love Him more. But sometimes, we take for granted God's love, which results in us not loving God as much. We must take time to ponder His love for us because it is our genuine love that would make us obey Him, and we can show it by spending time with Him. Today, we celebrate Mother's Day and it is not an accident that our Gospel is all about love. It is a blessing that we are able to live with our mothers. A mother nourishes, teaches, and does sacrifice for the family. If love is the other name of God, a mother, on the other hand, is a picture of God's love.
