March 22-23 2025 LA to the Valley of Death On approach over the breathtaking mountains outside of LA, and a preview of our tomorrow, we arrive and find our ride for the next several days. The hotel is nothing to write home about but the location and price were good. After a quick ride around the beachfront, we park and meet up with friends for dinner and a sunset hangout in Manhattan Beach. Early night as we’re driving and we need to head out early in the morning for our big road trip to Death Valley! We grab some breakfast in the AM in my old stomping grounds of Montrose CA, then continue on through the canyons. Unfortunately through all of the scenic twisties we happen upon a motorcyclist who took a nasty spill and needed medical attention. We drive a few miles out of the hills to get cell service and call 911 for him. Hoping for the best we trudge on for some trip prep shopping and lunch. A few hours of desert sightseeing later and we arrive to Death Valley’s Oasis hotel! 🥵
