In 2025, I chose to step back from social media — deleted most of my content, left TikTok, and tried to figure out how to show up online without it consuming my real life. Then my phone broke, and what started as an intentional choice became a forced months-long disappearance. This is a small glimpse of what happened during our first year homesteading. The struggles of raising too many animals with young kids, the losses we faced as beginner homesteaders, and what shifted as I learned to choose presence over hurry. I filmed this back in late summer and couldn't bring myself to post it. But looking back now, I can see why. I was preparing to step into another new season, one that required more of my full attention. Something that makes all of this — the stepping back, the slowing down, the need for presence — finally make sense.
