BACKWARDS - DEEP IN YOUR HEART

Dear all, My name is Hans Beljaards and music has always played a major role in my life. As a teenager I bought singles from Abba and Blondie, later pop music was exchanged for rock music. KISS became a kind of a disease, I wanted everything that had KISS on it. As a child I had lessons in how to play the electronic organ and from there I graduated to playing the Synthesizer. Later on, I got interested in the combination of keys and rock guitars and started to like the melodic rock/AOR scene. My attention then changed from the Hard Rock of my youth and more and more I found myself drawn to acts such as Journey, Triumph and Magnum. I played in a number of bands, but at a certain point my interest in making music disappeared and I got more interested in making homepages, about rock music of course. After years I came across an old box with tapes of old rehearsal room recordings and old ideas for songs. And very slowly the old craziness returned. I bought some synthesizers and recording equipment. Meanwhile how the times have changed since I first started playing music. Gone are the 16-track studios we use to use and in their place a computer on which you can now record your music at home with. At the moment, I have almost all the equipment I need, and have decided to call my new project Backwards. This is because many of my old ideas and songs will now be recorded with new up to date recording techniques, played with today's more modern sounds and instruments and it feels to me that I am going Backwards but still heading towards the future. I will also be adding in some of my favorite cover songs and of course I will be writing some new material as well. I would say that the music I'm working on now could be called Melodic Rock/Pop, I truly hope you will like it….
