Freedom to be able to live life the way you and your loved ones feel is right. Freedom to speak out about politicians and freedom to consume Cannabis as an alternative to pharmaceuticals and alcohol. High Relief is a documentary about medical and recreational cannabis created by a filmmaker with epilepsy. Frank traveled the country to visit what he considers to be the past(California), present(Colorado), and future(Florida) of legalized cannabis. In California, we met with activists still fighting for cannabis laws. We also hear from Dr. David Allen, an expert in how cannabis reacts with the human bodies natural chemistry. In Colorado, we witness rising legalization and the first recreationally legal High Times Cannabis Cup. The state of Colorado has created a booming Cannabis industry in the blink of an eye with legalization. We wanted to find out what effect this had on the people living in Colorado. In Florida, we followed United for Care. The organization in charge of Florida's attempt at passing amendment 2, a medical cannabis law. We gain insight from Ben Pollara, the man in charge of trying to get this revolutionary law passed. In Florida, we also meet with the last Federal Medical Cannabis patient Irv Rosenfeld. He stills picks up large tins of Cannabis shipped from U.S. government dispensaries every month, and shares his story with us. We asked the important questions that concern patients. Patients who are taking measures into their own hands, many times without a doctors supervision. High Relief gets down to the bottom of the current cannabis landscape.
