Winter can be a great time for foraging wild edibles, believe it or not. During winter you can spend time researching and you can spend time scouting new locations for next year. In this video we talk about things to keep in mind during a scouting trip so you know what to look out for. This video is by no means comprehensive but covers things like how to tell what type of plants may be growing in a woodland type habitat, types of terrain to look for to find different wild edibles, how to scout food sources for animals that you could also hunt. With it being winter we can see much farther and really see a transition in the habitat from moist Maple and Beech forest to Oak and Pine forest.
