Here is a video on bleeding Shimano brakes. I fundamentally believe that Shimano method applies ONLY to those who VERY frequently service their brakes. For anyone else, It's a flawed method for bleeding brakes. SRAM's on the other hand has a more updated method for bleeding brakes, and it applies to all. In this video, I go over how to bleed Shimano brakes using SRAM method for bleeding brakes plus add my part to finish the job Also, I know some people out there are pushing gravity bleeding. I get it, I've done it, but ultimately it's an inferior method for brake bleeding, especially for those who aren't very experience with the brake bleeding process. I'll also explain my reasoning for this in the video. During this brake service video, I came across a very unexpected issue, which you might find interesting. I ended up having to dismantle the entire handle to figure out the issue. In this section of the video, combined with a video I put out last year when I dismantled a whole caliper, you will get a good idea on how many areas there are for air to get trapped in a brake system, which goes back to my reasoning on why gravity bleeding can't fully be trusted. As always, if you have any question, leave them in the comment section below, and I respond as soon as I can. 00:00 Intro 05:10 tools needed 07:41 Servicing the caliper pistons and prepping the caliper 15:22 Prepping the brake lever and discovering the lever is broken 20:23 Start or the bleed process 24:38 Start of SRAM bleed process 28:54 Removing Air from Oil 34:28 restoring handle the caliper 39:18 Dismantling the brake handle
