While not my best time, my best being 4:11, this was the best I pulled off after thinking "Hey, I should have recorded that!". So I spent a few hours getting one final "decent" time kill. I've spent probably 8 hours trying to pull a sub 4 minutes kill and just don't think I've got what it takes to pull that off, or more like I just want to go back to doing things other than retrying the Rathian fight over and over. xD My 4:11 will sit as my final person best for now. Strategy wise I got to the point were I only took a health boost and a damage boost. Didn't need the stamina, and the health could be skipped to if one wanted, I just had some good runs end early cause of scrape damage/poison carting me, so I boosted health to keep going in those cases. Sneak attack out the door and rocksteady mantel to block the opening roar to keep hitting after. From there it's just a game of hitting the head, or whatever you can, but head does most damage, till you put her to sleep. Sleep bomb and trade to second Gunlance, doesn't matter if you trade before or after the sleep bomb, I was just out of WF on the main one. As for the second Gunlance, I honestly found it did less damage even with offensive guard than the sleep one which had higher melee hits and better crit rate, so I only took out GL2 long enough to fire off both wyvern fires (forgot I'd already used both in this vid and tried to do a 3rd, oops) and traded back. Normally the "mounting" part wasn't in most of my earlier attempts, I'd normally just go back to hitting the head or whatever else was in range till it died. I was trying random things to see if I could squeeze even a tiny bit of damage out of the fight and noticed she sometimes would double head slam a pillar for over 600 damage trying to shake me off, you need to be on the head to trigger this and the chance of two hits felt purely random. Though even after over a dozen or so runs with double head slams time always came in at 4:20 or so give or take a bit, so no idea if this is helpful or just stay on foot and perfect guard melee trade, both pull the same numbers for kill time. And that's that, my 3rd best Arena Rathian kill (got a 4:15 as well in there not recorded as well). Back to the hunt! Hunter: Arianya Hunter ID: UD86D9MD (I think, looking at a screenshot of the game start screen).
