Punti mach/Swamp barb (300gm). 2. Tamarind sauce (5 tbsp) 3. 1 Bay leaf 4. 1 Dry red chilli. 5. Mustard seeds (¼ tsp). 6. Turmeric powder (1 tsp) 7. Cumin powder ( ½ tsp) 8. Jaggery (as per your taste). 9. Slitted green chilli (4 no). 10. Poppy seeds paste (2 tbsp). 11. Salt (as per your taste). 12. Mustard oil Methods of How to make Punti MacherTok: 1. Marinate the fishes with ¼ tsp salt, and ¼ tsp turmeric powder. Keep it for 5 min. 2. Heat the pan and add mustard oil in it. 3. Fry the fishes very well. Keep aside. 4. Add 3 tbsp oil in hot pan. Add ¼ tsp mustard seeds, 1 bay leaf, 1 dry red chilli. Fry it for 10 sec. 5. Add 5 tbsp tamarind sauce, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp salt, and slitted green chillis. Mixed it well. Now cook in medium flame for 2 min. 6. Add 2 cups water. When boiling add fried fishes in it. 7. Close the lid for 5 min in medium flame. 8. After 5 min add jiggery as per your taste. 9. Now cook in high flame for 2 min. Add 2 tbsp poppy seeds paste. Mixed it well. 10. Put off your gas oven. The recipe is ready. 11. Serve hot punti macher tok with hot steamed rice.
