SALO Public Dialogue: Strengthening Implementation of SADC Principles in South Africa and Its Impact on SADC Countries- Aug 23, 2024: This event had a particular focus on women’s representation in electoral processes and elected bodies in light of August being women’s month in South Africa. Further, this dialogue included a discussion around: The SADC election observer report on South Africa 2024, assessing the extent to which the SADC Principles and Guidelines on Democratic Elections have been implemented. Lessons learnt for South Africa and the region from South Africa’s recent elections, including the implementation of the SADC Principles, particularly in terms of human rights and democracy. Women’s political participation including in South Africa and across the SADC region- Electoral violence in the region and particularly electoral violence against women.
